Website Visitors
- Technical data: IP address, browser type and version, device type, referral source

4. Legal Bases for Processing (UK GDPR Article 6)
- Contract performance (Art. 6(1)(b)): Processing necessary to provide the platform to account holders
- Legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f)): Platform security, fraud prevention, and service improvement
- Consent (Art. 6(1)(a)): Non-essential cookies and marketing communications

For stakeholder participants, we rely on the legitimate interests of the researcher who has engaged you and on the basis that processing is necessary for the research purposes communicated to you at the time of invitation.
5. How We Use Your Data
- To operate and deliver the Intervuws platform
- To conduct AI-facilitated interviews on behalf of researchers
- To generate research findings, themes, and summaries from interview transcripts
- To maintain and enrich stakeholder context profiles for use in future interviews
- To process payments via Stripe
- To send transactional emails (interview invitations, account notifications) via SendGrid
- To detect and prevent fraud and abuse
- To comply with legal obligations
6. Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or trade personal data. We share data only with the following categories of processor, each under appropriate data processing agreements:
- Anthropic (Claude API) — AI processing of interview content, under Anthropic's API terms
- Clerk — Authentication and session management
- Railway — Cloud hosting and database storage
- Stripe — Payment processing

Researchers who use the platform to invite stakeholders are themselves data controllers for the data they collect. We act as a data processor on their behalf for interview data.
7. AI Processing & Anthropic
Intervuws uses Anthropic's Claude API as the AI engine for interview conduct and findings generation. When you participate in an interview or when findings are generated:
- Your interview transcript is sent to the Claude API for processing
- Anthropic processes this data as a data processor under their API terms
- By default, Anthropic does not use API inputs and outputs to train Claude models
- Claude API data is subject to Anthropic's privacy policy: anthropic.com/privacy
Participants are always informed that their interview is conducted by an AI system before it begins. The specific disclosure text is configured by the researcher for each project.
8. Data Retention
- Account data: retained while your account is active and for 2 years after closure
- Interview transcripts: retained while the associated project is active; deleted within 30 days of project deletion
- Billing records: retained for 7 years for legal and financial compliance
- Access logs: retained for 90 days
